We're finishing up identity work for @pathwaveswa,

We're finishing up identity work for @pathwaveswa, an org that builds collective power to transform early childhood systems. They just kicked off their inaugural Fellowship which places leaders of color in the early childhood space in policy making/affecting roles. It's been quite the year!
I am feeling sad we're winding down cuz the folks at this org are amazing and I miss seeing them each week. I am begrudgingly accepting the fact that we have to be friends now, @lilnubs and @lishamofisha.
This illustration is meant to rep their systems change work while never losing sight of the kids they center their work around.

Doing work for the Wing Luke Museum was a dream come true. I've admired them since even before my newspaper days covering their good work for the local community.
This concept was really weird AND THUS A BLAST to create. Shout-out to @mercedes_luna and @xo_levy for being partners in the creative journey. 😘

I am annoyed Instagram is forcing me to do videos to be relevant, like I have all the time in the world and/or the talent/ability to make videos.
But my computer just froze and I made this while I waited for it to restart! 😁

I filled these @DrMartensUSA shoes with our fave foods — food that are both yummy and cute.
I wanted to create something that would be a conversation starter — like if I were sitting next to you on the bus and you happened to look down at my feet and see these shoes, I’d want you to ask me about them and ask me what’s up with the taco on my shoes?
And I’d be like, “Bruh, that’s not a taco. That’s banh xeo. How do you not know? Nevermind. Let me tell you all about it …”
This month is #AAPIHeritageMonth and what I love about this month is seeing and being inspired by all of the art and content that y’all create — learning about all of the different cultures under the very, very broad AAPI umbrella.
I am also very honored to be able to share a little piece here on my end, on one of my favorite shoe brands. (Dr. Martens were the first pair of shoes that I ever diligently SAVED UP money to buy for myself). Check out the reel to see the process and to check out the different facets of the art.

Happy #nationalbubbleteaday! Here's a throwback to this documentary I made back in 2019, showing the step-by-step on making @bb6twpopup's Bubble Tea-ramisu, a dessert paying homage to one of Taiwan's many culinary contributions to the world!

My work will be featured in the @littlesaigoncreative's art exhibit starting today through the end of the year.
The exhibit is titled "Ăn Đi: Vietnamese Cuisine & Cooking." My fellow artists and I explore the vibrancy, subjectivity, power, and sometimes political nature of Vietnamese food.
Come out today between 9am-4pm for the exhibit opening and experience the 3rd and final weekend of Tết celebrations at the Little Saigon Creative! They still have some of my li xi envelopes on sale so snatch them up in person before Tet is over and we are forced to throw them in the garbage.
(FYI, the recycled illustrations used for this animation was originally done for @redboatfishsauce, haaay. Buy the tote this illo appears on in their store.)
